FAQs
What is the difference between a Y-strainer and a basket strainer?
Y-type strainers are best suited for small lines and steam service. Basket strainers are used on larger lines with a high dirt load, since they offer roughly 4x more open area than a Y-strainer of the same line size.
What is micron rating?
Micron rating refers to the pore size of a filter element. A 5 micron rating means the filter captures particles larger than 5 microns in size.
How often should the cartridge be changed?
Change the cartridge when the differential pressure (DP) across the housing reaches 1.5–2.0 Bar, or every 6 months — whichever comes first.
Do you provide custom sizes?
Yes, we fabricate housings and vessels to your drawing at our Taloja facility.
What is the delivery time?
Standard housings ship in 2 weeks, custom-fabricated units take 3–4 weeks, and filter elements are available ex-stock.
